Master's thesis: Docking of lamb tails

As part of my master's thesis, I am conducting a survey in collaboration with the Institute for research and organic agricultural development FiBL in Germany on tail docking in lambs and the associated rearing and management measures. The aim is to gain an accurate understanding of the current state of sheep farming, covering everything from farm structure and husbandry methods to parasite treatment and control, the reasons for tail docking, and potential alternatives to this practice.

The survey is addressed to sheep farmers in various countries (Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy and Great Britain) and aims to document the practical challenges, solutions implemented and areas where improvement is still needed.

I would be very grateful if you could share this survey with your members in order to gain valuable insights into current practices. In the long term, the results should encourage the adoption of practical solutions and promote the sustainable development of sheep farming.

The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. All information will of course be treated confidentially and will only be analysed anonymously.
