The South West regional Southdown Group met for its traditional late winter / early spring lunch on Sunday 22nd February at the King’s Arms, Tedbury St. Mary. A first class Sunday carvery lunch was enjoyed by the 25 friends and members, old and new, who attended. The the group was especially pleased to welcome Stephen and Hilary Humprey as our guests.
Following lunch, the group held a brief meeting at which Stephen Humphrey said a few words in his capacity as Vice Chairman of the Society about the forthcoming Southdown year, and he read out a letter of greetings from Lindsay Dane, the Southdown Sheep Society Chairman.
The group plans to meet again in the autumn with a visit to a local textile making factory, with a pub lunch and a trip to a local artisan gin making business. More details in due course.
Our thanks to the Kings Arms pub who provided such a good lunch, and of course to Gail in the office for all that she did to help arrange the day.
